Should Workouts Change As You Age?

Here are tips for adapting your workouts to address changes to your body at different ages.

No matter what your age, being physically active is an important component of a healthy lifestyle. But what you do when you lace up your sneakers and slip into your workout clothes may be different depending on what stage of life you are in.

The exercise you do in your 20’s or 30’s is not the same thing you can – or should – do when you’re working out in your 40’s, 50’s or beyond. That’s not to say that you can’t keep some components of your favorite workout routines intact as you age if you still feel comfortable doing them. But if you’re looking to address the elements of time on your changing body, this video provides workout ideas that are appropriate for varying stages of life.

The exercise suggestions in the video are geared to women, but men can also benefit from changing up their workout routines as they age.

  1. I can tell a big difference in my ability to exercise from my 20’s to now 60 plus. I have got to pace myself better to not get discouraged.
